Why a site dedicated to softcore movies? Isn't hardcore better?
Well, hardcore certainly has it's place (and on the net it seems to be ALL over the place!) and most softcore fans are fans of that genre as well; however, there is already an abundance of information available on those types of films.
We believe that softcore fans would also like more information about the movies before they buy or rent them, as well as information about the stars they love to watch. Often online resources (such as the IMDB) are incomplete, inaccurate, and lacking when it comes to user reviews and updates.

What exactly is meant by "softcore"?
For the purposes of this site we are considering any movie that features simulated sex as an integral part of the storyline to be softcore. This can range from the "nudie" flicks found on late-night cable to the almost hardcore style of films that directors such as Jess Franco and Tinto Brass produce. In many cases there may be actual genital contact or stimulation, but there are no "sweat-beads on the labia" close-ups or "money shots".
We feel the term is a vague one but will use a judgement based upon the studio making the film and the stars in it (for example, the edited-down pornos found on cable will not be considered, but an "art" film featuring actual sex might). Also, some films from certain decades may be more or less explicit than the films today but are still classified as "soft".

Why aren't there videos on this site?
First of all, we'd love to be able to post lots of pictures and videos. But videos would take up too much web server space, and our provider only allows us a certain amount of space and bandwidth. Plus, due to the extra expense we'd have to charge for it. There are already hundreds of sites and newsgroups where you can find erotic movie clips, such as Erotic4U.

How do you rate the movies?
Please click here to read our standards (ha!) in full. We are not so foolish as to think that people watch these movies for the cinematography, storyline, or the editing, although all of those elements can certainly help to make a softcore film succeed. We watch for the sex and nudity, plain and simple.
These films are meant to be enjoyed as healthy erotica and we evaluate them critically with our tongues firmly in cheek. Or between some cheeks.

Will you accept reader submissions?
Absolutely. Your comments may be edited for content and/or space, but if you have something to say about any movie we want to hear about it. We will respect anonymity, of course, unless you state otherwise. But all submissions become our property and will only be used on this site, if accepted, in a manner we feel appropriate.

Has so-and-so ever done a hardcore porno movie?
Yes! Actually, in all seriousness you'd be surprised how many actors and actresses have done some "extra mile" stuff during their careers. Some actresses have modeled for men's magazines or done some fetish videos, and a few have even gone on to full-blown XXX careers (like Taylor St. Claire). The trend in softcore now is to cast adult actresses because they are more comfortable doing the explicit nudity.

Where can I buy or rent softcore movies?
The obvious answer is your local video store, but in many cases retailers don't offer a good selection or they don't stock the "unrated" versions of films. Usually the "ma and pa" kind of stores seem to have the best selections, with the major retail chains coming up short. Usually the big boys only want the mainstream family crowd, stocking row upon row of Hollywood Crap but not stocking that unrated copy of Insatiable Lust you are looking for.
So-called "alternative" video stores are usually treasure troves of undiscovered and rare softcore treats. Check your yellow pages for these types of stores. Online sources are also worth checking out, and perhaps the best overall online source for finding hard-to-find and rare videos is the online auction site Ebay, where video collectors from all over the world offer titles for sale. Our personal experience has shown us that Movies Unlimited, Amazon and DVD Empire are great online retailers. If anyone has another website or a store they would like us to mention, please email.
